Why this training exists

Required training, nothing extra

Because your Radiation Management Plan requires it. Every team member who works in or around the clinical area must be inducted on radiation safety, whether or not they take X-rays. This course is that induction for NSW practices: what radiation is, the rules that protect everyone, who may press the button, and what to do when something goes wrong. It is separate from the qualification to take X-rays. One practice licence covers every team member, including anyone who joins during the year.

What each team member will complete

Four lessons in order, then the quiz. Pass mark 80 percent, unlimited attempts

    1. Lesson 1: Radiation Safety Awareness

    1. Lesson 2: Our Radiation Safety Documents

    1. Lesson 3: Operating Safely (operators only)

    2. X-ray Machine Induction Checklist

    1. Lesson 4: When Something Goes Wrong
